My work is surreal and the layered tableaus I compose can be moody arenas for unclear events. I find my subjects in everyday life, family, media and filmography and dreams. My deep interest in the process of responding to inner circumstances and the environment is what guides me. Things in my spaces are places to be, in which situations can be understood, or at least looked at. I have always admired the commitment in religious icons, and am a fan of architecture. Artists I appreciate are Manet, Pinkham Ryder, Alice Aycock, Joann Todd, Stan Douglas, Nancy Spero and Neo Rauch to name a few.
